Since 1986, Chicago-based Spectrum Real Estate has been active in the office and residential marketplace with a specific emphasis on the rehabilitation and ownership of office buildings. Together with its construction affiliate, Merger Construction, Spectrum has acquired, developed and rehabbed Chicagoland properties with a concentration in River North, a Soho-like area, in which they pioneered the neighborhood's redevelopment.


Spectrum and Merger have contributed to the development of over 1,200,000 sq. ft. of space in Chicago. The Spectrum office building portfolio consisting of 770,000 square feet encompassing seven River North office buildings, places them as one of the leading owners in the River North office submarket. The seven building portfolio, unique in River North, is based on superior location, the commitment to 24/7 manned security in all the buildings and "hands-on" ownership. In the late 1990's, Spectrum successfully completed Union Square, a 3-phase, 217 Unit residential condominium project, located in River North, which included the construction of a four-story addition to an existing six-story 1918 warehouse building.
